AAMHA Celebrates its 20th Year Anniversary  

Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association is very excited to be celebrating its 20th year anniversary this year.  Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association (AAMHA) is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization that was founded in 1990 to serve families in San Antonio and Bexar County.

AAMHA’s mission continues to be to develop, own and manage quality affordable housing in a community environment that promotes resident education, self-sufficiency, leadership and volunteerism through successful partnerships.

AAMHA started operations with two properties purchased from the Resolution Trust Corporation.  Resident services were initiated using VISTA volunteers; full-time staff was later added to take resident services to the next level. Over the years, additional multi-family properties were purchased while others were newly constructed.  AAMHA has grown to own eight diverse communities with 1,116 units throughout Bexar County.

AAMHA would like to thank its residents, staff members, partners, community leaders and board members throughout the years, as well as NeighborWorks America for their continued support of this organization.
