Specific underwriting opportunities:

Touching Hundreds of Lives
Learning Center Sponsorship: $3,500

Give the gift of learning to the hundreds of residents – youths and adults – whose AAMHA community’s Learning Center is a key part of their daily lives. A donation of $3,500 will support the programs and activities of one Learning Center for a full month. This includes supplies, staff salaries, community wellness activities, snacks and activities for the Pathways Programs, Leadership Development and Personal Development initiatives.

Supporting a Child’s Voice and Future
Computer for Annual Youth Computer Competition: $700

Each year, AAMHA hosts an essay contest among its youth. The topic is usually centered on the theme of “community”. The competition asks the youth “What does community mean to them?” and “How can they better their community?” The winning essays’ authors are awarded a brand new Dell Vostro laptop, complete with a CD/DVD player, Microsoft Office Basic software and a printer/scanner. Help AAMHA expand the number of laptops it gives out each year with your $700 contribution.

In Pursuit of Knowledge
Education Grant Sponsorship: $500

Every spring and fall, residents of AAMHA can apply for an Education Grant that will assist them in meeting their educational goals. Whether it’s a high school GED or a bachelor’s degree from a university, a donation of $500 will be the fuel that might help someone achieve a dream.

Absorbing the Richness of Culture
Learning Center Youth Field Trip: $250

Every summer, holiday break and spring break, the youth of Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association are provided the opportunity to experience some of the great cultural activities our city has to offer. In the past these have included the Magik Theater, the Witte Museum and Silver Stars basketball games. A donation of $250 will pay for a field trip for the youngsters from all seven of AAMHA’s Learning Centers to attend AND to maintain those friendships they have created with other children their own age from various parts of the city.

Being a Good Scout
Girl Scout Troop Sponsorship: $150

The Girl Scout experience is among the fondest of memories for most women. Help the children of Alamo Area MHA share in this, by sponsoring a Girl Scout troop at a Learning Center. Your gift of $150 covers all registration fees, badges and supplies needed for one year.

Experiencing Summer Camp
Weeklong Summer Camp Experience: $75

Summer camp is a rite-of-passage for many children – a time when they’re away from home and parents for the first time, and get to put into practice their own judgment. For only $75, you can pay for a deserving youngster to attend a weeklong camp through Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association’s partnership with the Texas Cooperative Extension Bexar County 4H. Your $75 will cover registration and all supplies needed while at camp.

Fueling a Young Body and Mind
Snacks for an Entire Month: $25

The Pathways Youth Program provides interactive educational enrichment activities at the Learning Center of each AAMHA community. Structured programs emphasize art, music and literacy in an environment of cooperative learning. Beyond daily enrichment activities, children have the opportunity to complete homework and play educational computer games, reinforcing math, science, reading, and creative thinking. During the school year, the program is offered Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for children over the age of six. During the summer when school is out, the hours are extended. Your donation of $25 will ensure that a child receives an after-school snack for an entire month while participating in the Pathways Program.
